Paranoid or just cautious?

I believe that somebody has been in my flat. I’m quite meticulous about how I organise my things, and nobody has been here since I left, and yet things have changed. Locks are all intact, nothing nicked, and there’s a definite chance I’m wrong and just making a fuss. But I’m not happy.

That’s really odd - it would completely freak me out!
I wonder what that number could be… It doesn’t look like a phone number. What about an account number for something? Was it by your computer? If so, perhaps check your recent history, to see if someone has been on it. Or was it by your phone - have you tried redial and 1471 to find out last incoming / outgoing calls?
Is there cctv anywhere at the entrance to your flat? Who else has a key?
I would get the locks changed immediately if I were you!!!

43462399 doesn’t turn up anything obviously important on Google, and trying to form a word with predictive text doesn’t bring anything up. Could it be a London phone number?

  3. Kirsty Says:

No, a London number would begin 7 or 8
Smart idea on the predictive text - I didn’t think of that! Shame it didn’t work.

Is it a bank account number do you think? Most of those are 8 digits. Why they’d want to break in and write it on a post it I have no idea.

It’s not your bank account number is it Matt? Because I had a thought about someone maybe transfering money into your account and setting you up so it looks like you’ve commited a crime in exchange for money or something. :-S

anyone tried some of the sites, like prometha, for it being a password?

  7. Kim C Says:

Think about it Matt, its the right amount of digits for an account number.
Obviously, its not yours as you would have picked it up on it, but perhaps its something close?
A newspaper, your flatmate? Be careful.

Check your hard drive too. x

It’s not long enough to be a mobile number. It is the username for blackmoorservice.com
